The Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth, and we need Him to understand the Scriptures which He inspired. The Holy Spirit will be with us forever, He is our comforter, the Spirit of adoption unto sonship. Although Jesus’ disciples often did not understand Him because of their ingrained ‘Law’ thought patterns, on the day of Pentecost, they received a download of understanding and revelation from the Spirit of truth about everything Jesus had been teaching. The realization of the extent of their deliverance from bondage as well as seeing the love that the Father had for them was of such intensity that they were drunk with joy. This revelation had the result of them operating in great power and fearless boldness from thereon. They realized that God was enough for them. When we realize that God is enough for us, He is the most glorified in us. The disciples moved out of religion into relationship on the day of Pentecost, they became conscious of Christ within them. Christ is also in us, being our sanctification and the power towards our transformation. Our works should testify that we are in Christ and that He is in us. The disciples also realized on this day that they were no longer servants or slaves but sons and daughters of the Most High God, and the same is true for us. The Holy Spirit made them – and also makes us – fruitful friends and prophets, since He shares with us the will of the Father, and enables us with impartation whatever is needed to be successful when we go about the business of the Kingdom of God as well as in our everyday lives.
